Micaceous iron oxide is a pigment. It can give a unique anti-rust property, high heat resistance, preventing penetration of steam, acids, alkali and salts, providing good resistance to temperature changes, giving good adhesive force to surface. It reflects visible lights and absorbs 550um and shorter wave length ultraviolet.
It is mainly used in anti-rust paints, for applications such as bridges, petroleum pipelines, vessels and steel structure constructions.
